The City of Melbourne is located within the southern portion of Brevard County, Florida. This entire region has a subtropical climate for those of you wanting to escape the ice and snow of the north. Melbourne has a subtropical climate with on average of 234 sunny days per year and an average temperature of 80 degrees. The city is located where temperate and sub-tropical climate zones meet, which means that you can find animals and plants here that are found nowhere else on earth and the weather is generally mild in both summer and winter.

Melbourne International Airport is located within the city limits and provides both easy commercial service to the world and also many private aviation resources to the community, including flight training.

Melbourne is also the home of both Florida Tech and Eastern State College which are both four year schools with great national reputations.

Florida Tech's newly created football team will be exciting to watch develop while Eastern State College conversion in 2013 from a community college to a four year university will also see major developments into the future.

Socially, Melbourne has it all! From the King Center on the campus of Eastern State College with world class performers in town each week, to its many restaurants, lounges and bars, there are many things to do every night! All denominations of churches can be found in the city and surrounding areas and there are many religious based schools from kindergarten through high school.

Speaking of schools, Brevard County and the City of Melbourne have many schools scattered throughout its boundaries for easy access by all students. The Brevard County School Board controls all of the schools in the county and does a great job of educating our youth.
